I have a thing I have done since I was a child and I just can't seem to stop, not that I have really tried because it gives me great comfort. I take anything soft like a cotton blanket, or my nice soft night gown and find a soft place on it and rub with my left index finger or my thumb. I totally love this! I sometimes even rub my jeans too as they are soft but I have to be so careful in public because I don't want others to wonder what I'm doing. Please tell me that others do this too! I'm 46 so I feel sort of strange asking.

so long as you don't hurt other or yourself these self habits are normal. check out the tv series my strange addictions to see more serious ones that perhaps do need to be changed

The funny thing is I did this when I was like 1 or 2 years old. I stopped doing it when I was like 10 n started doing it again wen I got pregnant with my 1st baby n I haven't stopped since. I'm now 26 n I do it when I am agrivated irritated sad mad upset depressed or bored n I really thought I was the only 1. Then I had my last daughter she is 2 n started rolling anything she could get her hands on about a year ago. Now she refuses to go to sleep unless she has a tag on a stuffed animal ur a blanky or a piece of clothing. It is so adorable. Getting her to sleep is as easy as putting a tag in her hand even for a nap.

I love cotton. have since birth. I'm 24 and always am fiddling with my shirt or whatever cotton is around. it's like my skin was made for cotton, lol
