I have a horrible memory. Not only in the sense that I do not remember things, but in the sense that I only remember negative experiences. For example, instead of having a clear picture of flying a kite after school with my friends, I would have a clear picture of climbing a tree to retrieve said kite and falling. From one school I've been to, my only memory is slipping and falling down the stairs, although I am sure that much more has happened there.

But here is the strange part: when somebody, usually my parents, reminds me of something I did as a child, even if it isn't neccesarily negative, I always become embarassed to the point of asking them to stop talikng and leaving the room. It happens this way every single time, even if there is no one else around to hear it and it is something completely normal, like something funny I'd said when I wasn't even in kindergarten yet. I myself treat this as an embarassing mistake, not something any normal child might say. Is this normal?

Naturally you remember the bad things more than the normal or good things. It's part of the way the human mind works.
