I have two blogs. One is one tumblr and is somewhat "successful" and the other is on blogspot. The first one I've put my heart and my interests in it and the second I don't know what to do with it. I would like it to be a success, but I never know what to write. The only thing I've done is write about one disastrous trip and a few food reviews. I had someone to edit them and I feel like everything that's "me" has been left out. I fear my posts sound cold and robotic. I've gotten a quite a few views, but not one comment. I don't have much of a social life, but I have thoughts and I would like to share them. I don't know what to write though. I'm scared to write something personal or deep for fear that I won't be taken seriously or how people might react. I want to get serious with it at some point in my life, not just be some pathetic waste of space. I think the more I share, the more I may become at peace with myself. IIN?

Why do you have someone editing your blog?
I can understand if you want to have a "beta reader" to help with spelling errors or grammatical issues, but... in the end if it's your blog it should be your voice, not someone else's.

This.

There's no way you can do any worse than Perez Hilton.

1. When I first got it, I was extremely insecure about my writing.
2. When I was writing my first post, a family member say what I wrote and said that I came off as a bitch. She said that I had to be careful about what I wrote and how I portrayed myself on the internet. Not to share too much.

well yes, sharing too much can be an issue. I call it "opsec" for "operational security" (military term)

if you're doing an anon blog it's best to be careful about what you say if you don't want people figuring out who you are etc.

however "being a bitch"... that depends on what you're writing about. and if your relative was just mad or hurt over something you said.

The best blogs tend to be about something in particular, a theme that the author uses as a jumping-off point from which to discuss other things they want to talk about. For instance, you might have a food blog and in the process of describing how you made the dish start talking about what happened at the grocery store when you bought the ingredients and tie that into some profound overarching statement, etc. You can take it anywhere. Just pick something you're interested in and there you go.

Thank you:)

I want there to be some variety since I can't seem to stick to one topic. I have a few ideas in mind, though.

Well, you're into art, right? Something like that is a pretty broad topic that you can do a lot with. Or it could be something more abstract, like "what I was thinking about when I woke up this morning" or "things I would tell a person who had just been asleep for 1,000 years about modern society."

i like your blog especially the details about the food, the background with the rain is nice, imo more of your poetry would be lovely

Whenever I want to write something deep or personal I do it on IIN.

That way I can be myself and no one has to know.

That's how you solve two Birds with one Stone my friend.

That's mainly what I do, but I still want to share a view or two.

Sounds like me. I have 3 blogs with about 10 posts each. I always come up with great ideas and I can formulate entire thought processes and paragraphs when I'm doing something mundane. Yet the minute I sit down to write it just flops. I feel I can't write creatively or with flair because I'm so used to writing long winded analytical essays from postgrad study and my research at work. And I do enough of that to not want to have to replicate it in a blog...I feel your pain!

I did the same thing. About a year ago I decided I'd create a blog. Now, normally I'm usually writing and I have tons of ideas popping into my head, but it seemed like once I made a blog, it was like complete writers block. My mind just went completely blank. It was like all my ideas got turned off as soon as I made one. So now, instead of having my blog be this complete success with news stories and all of that, I kinda just turned it into a diary, and I made it private now, so only close people can see it.

Not sure, but maybe you could make some kind of advice column.

Try writing about your past, interesting things you did, gifts you got, who you went on a date with!
