The GRAMMAR POLICE could totally arrest you on grounds of contempt. Using that spelling for "grammer" is practically the same as jokingly saying "Yes, Sir, Mr. Pooh-lice officer".

People generally dislike laziness as much as idiocy. What's one little apostrophe to type? Does it really take that much of an effort? Do you ever say to yourself, "Man, I'm glad I saved all that time ignoring those apostrophes! Now I can take a 20-second-longer nap! People think I'm an idiot now, but, oh well!" Quit whining you lazy bum, you could be sleeping right now.

I will correct someone's grammar if they misuse "your" and "you're", or "they're", "their", and "there". I won't get on someone for forgetting one or two commas (and I COMPLETELY understand when people make a couple of errors if you're writing something via phone), but I WILL get on someone for just not giving a shit about sounding like a retard. You certainly don't need to sound proper or formal, but if you sound lazy and stupid, it is going to be very difficult for people to take you seriously.

I'll correct someones grammar if they are being a dick, only because it is annoying lolz. But on a day to day basis, unless they TyPe LiKe ThIs AlL Of ThE TiMe, I will read on by grammar mistakes totally unfazed.

I say it when I'm taking a jab at someone on an actual debate (only as a small on the side jab).

If I correct someone on their grammar alone, it's to correct them so that they understand they were wrong and learn, that's part of how I improved, so I thought I'd do the same for them.

Eh, I understand where you are coming from. Often times, when I make a typo, it is because I was typing too fast and I did not proofread it, but then again, I am meticulous about the way that I type.

Unless the grammar police are giving me a sincere piece of advice, they are usually just using the grammar card as a last resort jab at my intelligence (in the stead of just addressing my argument).

Personally, I find that the attitude of grammar, typing skills, spelling skills etc. being the END ALL, BE ALL of intelligence is hideously flawed. Granted, I think it is safe to assume "dat sum1 who tlks liek dis" (or types like that for that matter) is probably a moron, but I still refuse to believe that highly advanced articulation skills are a necessity or the only true indicator of intelligence.

My articulation skills, given enough effort, tend to make people believe that I am much more intelligent than I actually am so I am not about to say that they come anywhere near the requirement for intelligence. But this is me ranting.

I can generally ignore most obvious spelling and grammar mistakes, but the one thing I can't stand is the confusion between 'your' and 'you're'. I see it everywhere, and it really annoys me.

Well, I am a little iffy on grammar and always try to spell correctly. I also proofread most of my comments. I only agree with you on when the grammar police question your intelligence on simple mistakes or use grammar in a debate (but that's only for the small mistakes). I don't mind and usually agree with the grammar police when someone constantly spells very poorly or really fails at using grammar properly.
