I have been a frequent user of cannabis and have finally come to an understanding of the negative impact it has had on my well being. I have always heard there are zero physical withdrawal symptoms, however, when I quit using the drug I notice this is not the case. While the withdrawal is not much of an issue, I do notice headaches, stomach aches, dizzy spells, along with a general feeling of discontent. I believe mental and physical aspects are so closely connected that to say cannabis has no physical withdrawal is just ignorant and biased. Tell me what you think and is it normal, or do I have a stomach problem?

There's a difference between addiction and dependance and this is an important thing to take note of in cases of cessation of things like this. Addictive substances (cocaine, methamphetamine, opiates and the like) work along the reward pathway of the brain, while many of the less harmful drugs (cannabis, MDMA and psylocibin for example) do not.

Cannabis is known to treat stomach conditions, increase appetite, treat headaches, insomnia, blah blah laundry list. Your body is used to having it in its system to take care of those things. Now, without it, you're feeling those more. It's not addiction per say, but you become dependant on any substance you put in your body regularly.

Great way to put it. Addictive is a strong word to use pertaining to cannabis. Thanks for the comment.

I found it hard to sleep and eat when I quit but you get over it. Never heard of stomach pains though.

They say marijuana doesn't have an addictive tendency that's a crock shit. People can get addicted to anything if you've frequently used it for long periods of time. I use to smoke almost everyday for about a year in a half. Then when I stopped I realized

I was a three time a day smoker for several years, and when I was accepted into my college program I stopped cold turkey with no withdrawal. I feel like it is more of a mental addiction, and that it depends on the smokers personality.

There is psychological addiction with marijuana and there is a mind-body connection. Stomach problems can be more mental than physical, stemming from anxiety.

I wouldn't call the distinction biased. It's an important distinction, but it's also important to remember that even if something is at the core, physical or at the core psychological doesn't mean it won't have effects that carry over into the other one.
