IIN that I find gory deaths more disturbing when they're underwater

Whenever I see or even hear of a gory and violent death that happens underwater, I feel disturbed by it for days. For example, I even cringed when I heard about that acid scene from the film Untraceable when I never even watched it. I get afraid when I see sharks feeding underwater. But when I see them on dry land I feel less disturbed. I even watched tons of incredibly gory shows and they didn't really disturb me. But when I think of graphic deaths underwater it really disturbs me. Is this normal?

Wait a minute,

"sharks are scary when they're feeding underwater but not scary on land"

No kidding.

God damn it, I was scrolling down with the specific intent of saying exactly that!

You're 15 hrs behind me, it's almost impossible for you to post silly observational wise cracks before me. It's Thursday here.

Ah damn, its still in my Wednesday "workday" here.

To an extent, me too. And out of courtesy to you (and perhaps other people here), I'm not going to type about something largely unknown and which I wish to hell I hadn't ever have found out.

Is it normal that i'm intrigued? I guess we wont find out this disturbing thing. I'll be wondering all day what it could be

I'll tell you in private but I don't want to say it in public because it's pretty disturbing. If I were you, though, I'd choose not to know.

How would you feel about telling me in private? I'm so curious, now...

Is it something that could give one, nightmares? Or is it worse than anything I could ever imagine?

oh how annoying! of course we want to know now dappled, to OP but doesnt the water wash the blood away and make it less gory?

You see the blood floating around the scene.

In retrospect, maybe it isn't so bad. It's just something that disturbs me. I was reading about the building of huge dams (like the Hoover Dam) and they were talking about the massive machines which mixed concrete to a certain consistency.

It was reasonably common for men to fall into them and they died by simultaneously being:

(a) drowned in concrete
(b) threshed by blades chopping through their body and limbs
(c) crushed between rollers

I just didn't like it. :/

Ahh I have heard of such things happening. Awful way to go. And to think what structures worldwide could have bodies buried in them :/

Ya that would suck a lot!

I certainly would not want to die underwater. No one can hear you scream and when you try, you just suck in water, so ya

I get where you're coming from!

well since too little water = death and too much water = death, i think it's pretty natural that you would be unnerved by water. many people are.

underwater is scary :)

You were most likely traumatized at a young age or something like that--but completely normal
Comment Hidden (show)
Well , it is not as bloody so I think it would be less dramatice as you can not see their blood and guts flying everywere .
