Business attire — coat and tie, etc. — seems to be generally regarded as making a person look respectable, professional, and trustworthy.
I have the exact opposite reaction. When I see someone in a suit, or even just in a collared shirt and a tie, my first impression is that they're sleazy, not to be trusted, and I'm likely to assume that they're either an asshole or an idiot or both.
