First off, I'm assuming you're living in a reasonable urban are and if that's the case go to your local social services office.
Second, if you're already on social assistance have you tried disabilty? If you have a mental illness of some kind that will help you claim disabilty a lot for easily than if you don't.
Third, try rooming houses as an alternative if you can't pay market rental prices. Rooming housing is when people share an apartment/ house/etc. to help either pay for the rent there or pay for the mortgage. I pay about $500.00/month(utilties/internet/cable included)and I live in a townhouse condo near the downtown area of my city.
P.S: Disability pays more than regular social assistance and is more sustainable in the long term.

Look into job core

Job corp is a great program! My friend went and it really helped. It's free and you get food housing and job training. My friend got some kind of nursing training.

Go to your county's Social Services office or website to look into programs that can help you. You can get Food Stamps and other such things even being a single person, you don't have to have kids to qualify. They can also help you to find trade schools or job opportunities. As the other poster said, you can go to Job Corps too, up to age 24, there you learn a trade ranging from culinary arts to welding or plumbing and so on, many choices...and they provide living arrangements, food and a monthly stipend.

What about a roommate?

What about renting a bedroom in someones house? get house priveledges, all utils paid, low cost?

What country are you in? Sounds like you're dealing with some poverty here!

What level of education do you have? What other barriers do you have that are influencin your income right now?

See if there are any programs available to help you deal with these so you can pull yourself out of poverty.

This is totally normal! If I hadn't had the help I had from my parents I could have just as easily been in your shoes!

I've been looking for a steady job since 2009 (3 years now) and I still can't find shit. I'm living with family in the dining room, and on food stamps just to survive and stay off the street. I can build and repair computers, but can't even land a job at WalMart. I try to make money by fixing computers from home, but nobody has money and they're all flakes. If I advertize like crazy (online, on light poles around my city, in parking lots, holding a big sign, handing out business cards), I can maybe pull in $200 in an entire month. Things are bad.

Why did your parents kick you out? Try Salvation Army. DO NOT try Social Security unless you are truly disabled! The last thing that American tax payers need is to pay MORE for you to not work. Any other friends or family to help you? Good luck! I was still in college at 22...
