No.
The OP has used incorrect terminology. Not everyone has a bit of OCD. Everyone has idiocyncracities, as Shackleford says.
My friend had OCD. Actual OCD. It ruled his life to the point that he was unable to leave his house. He had no life because he was controlled by his routines. He bled from scrubbing with steel wool to remove unclean thoughts and he would then have to sterilise his whole house. If a single thing was out of order he would be incapacitated for hours or even days with his rituals to right the things he perceived as wrongs. I don't have the time or energy to outline all the horrid things Nick did to himself because of his illness.
He killed himself about four years ago now because he couldn't live with it and the mental anguish and exhaustion it caused him.
Doing odd little things is very different from having OCD. It is offensive and frustrating to those who live with it and those of us who love them when the term is bandied about until it loses its true meaning.
Thank you for sharing this though, I think it's a perfect example of why this common mistake that people make tends to make me and others such as yourself angry/upset.
Yeah I was literally shaking with rage when I typed that up so I do apologise to Keddersprincess...the rage was in no way directed at her.
You alluded to being close to someone who has it(or did I read too much into it?) which explains why you're on these topics, too. If it is yhe case, I hope they find successful treatment.
I do have a few minor obsessive tendencies myself. Not obsessive compulsive disorder, but I will list them for you since it was what you were originally wondering.
-One of them is counting the number of gulps I take when drinking something.
-After I brush my teeth, I tap my toothbrush on the sink five times.
-Papers always must be tamped against a flat surface to make them straight and organized.
-Toilet paper must be used in amounts of three sheets at a time. Though I think this one was just how I was raised rather than my own habit.
-Loose cords must be wrapped neatly in coils with rubber-bands securing them.
Those are just a few I could think of right away, I'm sure there is more.
