Imagining I am eating something else

I have practiced this wierd habit (so I think) ever since I was a kid. While eating anything, I will look at pictures of foods (recipes, restaurant menus, whatever) that are much better than I am actually eating, and the experience is so real to me. For example, I could be eating a bowl of cheesy pasta w veggies and chicken and sauce, and all the while, I will read the recipe or look at the picture for something 100 times better and I can really feel like I am eating that instead. A bowl of cereal with tons of sugar?? That leads to me believe I am consuming the frosting-filled sugary wedding cake that I see on the pages of a cookbook. I can almost equate it to masturbating to great porn and feel like you're really having sex. Is this normal?

You have a very active imagination. Not typical but not abnormal.
Don't worry, it drives me crazy too.
Normal.
