I actually did have a crush on characters in cartoons when I was a kid, I think it was mostly on anime characters, and some other cartoons. I guess it's normal if you're a teen.

I don't know what these other posters are talking about. YES, IT'S COMPLETELY NORMAL. I have known lots of people who have had crushes on NPCs. If someone's a gamer, then eventually they are probably going to run into a character in some game that really turns them on, for whatever reason. With high-end graphics, complex relationships written into the storyline, and strong character developement that today's video games possess, it's very easy to 'suspend disbelief', at least long enough to develop attraction to an NPC. My ex-boyfriend had a thing for Lara Croft (and this was before the movie came out with Jolie), to the point where he would line up the camera(player's point-of-view) to get a better look at her body(i.e., he would 'check her out' while playing). I had, and continue to have, a profound crush on Eno Hlaalu, from The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. He was the GrandMaster of the Morag Tong, which is the assasins guild and cult of 'black-hands' Mephala, the web-spinner(the hermaphrodite lord/god of sex and deception). He was dark, mysterious, poised, wise, powerful, gentle and pious(to Mephala). He took in my young avatar and gave her a chance to prove herself, and when she did, she was accepted by Eno into the Morag Tong. He took my PC under his wing - commanding that she recieve all of her writs directly from him. She grew and matured under his guidence, until the day when the student('me') had surpassed the teacher(him). He then graciously accepted that he was no longer the best-and honestly told me/her so. He humbled himself to her - confessing that he was tired, and he no longer possessed the strength to fight. He begged for her to spare his life and allow him to quietly slip away, turning leadership over to her, so that he might retire and finally find inner peace. With a story like that, how could I NOT fall for him? And he was attractive too - tall and slender with peircing eyes, and always wearing his scarlet Morag Tong robe. God, I still fantasize about him...so, as you can see, no, you're not weird or unusual, but non-gamers just aren't going to get that.

Of course its normal. They simulate real people so your mind sends hormones around your body saying "looks like a hot human!".
I myself adore many anime characters. Mainly cause they're so attractive and their personality is wonderful and no-one in real life could be like that. Its completely normal, just something in your everyday thoughts. You may get depressed thiking "OH MY GOD THEY'RE NEVER GOING TOP BE REAL!! *cough, me, cough* but its reality so whatever. :)
