He probably spent all that time trying to get over you, only now to find that you love him again. I don't think it's a good idea to be too direct...

just how similar this is to my own situation is just weird. Tell him how you feel, you never know he might still feel something for you, expect he's just buried it deep down because he accepted a while ago it wasn't happening.

If you haven't tried you'd never know. It's better to know if it's going to work or not rather than just thinking about it. You'll be relieved if you be honest with him since you are still friends.. this is just a great thing already

Give it a shot :)

ok that sounds exactly like my story, once, i felt in love with my ex, exactly like you did, he still loved me and everything, but i told him too late and he didnt had feelings for me anymore, anyways, we continued our friendship.

and other time, i felt in love with my best friend. he told me he loved me and everything, and it looked like he started to look me as something more than a friend, but one day, he died, and I never told him how did i feel.
i know, its sad, and it was real.

tell him how you feel

Well I don't know about the sex part BUT I'm going to share my experience. I'm in love with my bestfriend(we have been friends for 3 years) and the thing is that today I started to tell him, and before I could say anything he already knew. Right now we are still best friends. He told me he's not prepared to have a relationship right know. I'm just glad he reacted maturely and things went to normal (or I hope so).

I say go for it, the worst thing that could happen is that he doesnt feel the same way.

You should tell him how you feel. The worst he could do is tell you he appreciates you telling him but he would just like to remain friends. So either way you still get to keep your friend, but if he says he isn't feeling you that way then don't make it complicated he may change his mind in the future.
