Why do poeople take insults so seriously? There are people at my school who, if insulted, will try and get into a fight with the person who insulted them. Or internet fighters! Why do people get so worked up? I feel the same about racism. I am white and, if a whole group of guys from another country started calling me some skinny assed white boy (which I am! xD) I would just laugh. I can understand that racism against blacks was once a very serious issue so I get how it can be offensive but... Why do people these days have to take things so seriously? Call me what you like, you aren't going to offend me! Why do other people care? Are you insulted by insults?
At how stupid and assuming they are.
Otherwise it I'd just feel bad for them and myself, so I just have to laugh
But insults are intended to hurt, to abuse, to slur to adversely affect a persons reputation, ideas, character and so on. And there are many situations where that does in fact matter.
