For some number of years I had this occassional strange sense of aggression and/or intense adrenaline rush whenever I imagine violent situations in which I am defending myself or epsecially someone else I may care about from someone or something.
This can range from some sort of large animal attacking me/someone such as a bear or something to just some evil man trying to kill someone, to fighting a terrorist or something.
I have always admired the people who serve in the military. I feel like I would have no qualm with killing an evil man in defense of myself or others, especially if I were in the Army or something.
Sometimes when imagining these things I get intense adrenaline rushes thinking about coming out on top of the fight. I'm not even buff or anything but when I get the adrenaline and aggression flowing I feel like I could take someone twice my size if I had to for my own or someone else's life in a just manner.
I'd like to point out it's never that I want to harm someone who does nothing to deserve or provoke it!
I also seem to feel like I would have a large sense of pride after being victorious in this situation if it ever occured.
Is is strange to feel this way? Anyone else experience this?
Take Care
It isn't irritability towards anyone or anything and it isn't a sense of fear.
Fear would be the exact opposite. It fills me with courage and a desire to do something heroic or help someone...not be annoyed with them or afraid...I think you read it wrong.
Take Care
If you live or have lived in a hostile/volatile/aggressive environment what you feel makes sense and you might be edgy from it.
But, I wouldn't worry about things some much.
Just exercise and be vigilant.
Adrenaline is released into your body in large doses to prepare you for what we call "fight or flight".
Basically, your reaction times increase, blood thickens and prioritizes on organs that will be needed in combat/retreat, to help you react better to the stressor you are facing.
Once the stressor has been taken away, noradrenaline is released to even everything out again, you may be getting the noradrenaline a bit later than other people, keeping you hyped up for a bit longer.
It's perfectly normal, no need to worry.
