Irritated wtih People's Intentional Misspellings
79% Normal

I can't stand it when people do not speak in complete sentences. They substitute whole words, or even indivdual letters within words for numeral characters. Here's an example of what I am talking about:

im goin 2 da p4rk 2day an 1ts gonna b r34l fun

is it normal for me to get really irritated with these people? I cannot stand it when people do this. It drives me insane and I am only seventeen. I develope a serious hate for these type people. Even if they have made a somewhat intelligent comment I will not agree with them because of their spelling. I mean, a misspelling here and there is expected because no one is perfect, but they are doing this intentionally. Is this normal for me to get so angry and upset over people's intentional stupidity?
Do you think it's normal?

y u hatin?
I'm the same way. I think it's sad that people are too lazy to move their fingers just a little bit more. Although, I think a lot of people do it just to be "cool" which I find to be HIGHLY pathetic. I think a lot of people are just trying to fit in cause they don't have enough confidence to be themselves. It's easy just to fit into the box of what everyone else is doing.
There are a lot of people posting their personal problems on here but have you noticed the correlation between the severity of their problems and their inability to communicate them effecively? It's pretty much linear.

The sad thing is you have probably paid a small fortune in taxes to educate these cretins.
I agree with the part about not using complete sentences. As for the letters, this is known as leet, or 1337, speak. It was developed by hackers in the last century so that the could talk about certain subjects without their conversations appearing on search engines. The people who do it out of historical reference or for the artform are cool by me, but some people should just stick to the regular alphabet to improve typing speed and avoid looking like idiots.
I love you! You also find it irritating!!! Yay!
I don't find it that irritating but i don't like reading something that someone has typed when they use...do not instead of don't or cannot instead of can't, it seems as though it gives a seriousness to everything they say and therefore sounds dull and boring most of the time! Even though it irritates you i don't think you should let it get to you because some people might not like the way you type. we can't all be the same!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with not using contractions. In fact, whenever you write a business letter, you are supposed to avoid using them.
Ditto on that one.
Amen! yes!

I use the l33t speak occasionally, just to relish in it's geekiness =) But, unfortunantly being stuck in a the class that is apparently the most stupid sophomore class people have seen, I encounter a lot of "4 wut did u go 2", etc etc. I am obviously not adept at making sensible sentences haha. I really hate the "wut". The "wut" really gets me. Also, 4 and 2 drive me crazy. I'm one of those people who's always correcting people's grammar in my head, it's got to be one of the first things I notice, and this ridiculous teenage mispelling thing drives me CRAZY. tHiS KiNd of tHiNg drives me absolutley nuts too.
Haha, I thought it was just me who hated these sheep. I'm also 17 and the way they type is just so annoying and sometimes unreadable.

I can understand people doing it on txt messaging and the odd "u" or "brb" "one sec" is different because it's still understandable and I think that's ok.

The worst place for your typical intentional mis-speller cunt is MSN... "hEy BabeZ HoW iZ yoU?!"

I think your typical intentional mis-speller cunt just does it because
1) it is "the norm"
2) if they're shit at spelling which they probably are they can use this as a way to avoid it.
3) they actually think it looks good.

I know for a fact... Intelligent people are more likely to believe somebody who writes in a readable fashion and sounds intelligent.

The good thing about this is that you can realise easily who is your typical intentional mis-speller cunt and somebody who thinks for themselves.

It is perfectly normal to hate your typical intentional mis-speller cunt.
I only took half a keyboarding class and I am not even doing it right (home keys) yet I can render full sentences as fast as others can do netspeak. People try to hard to be like everybody else. I could understand back in 1983 on a bbs chat mode with 600 baud modems where a saved character was a long time saved in line charges, but now with all-you-can eat internet and 56k modems (and even broadband) saving a little bandwidth is no longer an issue.
Chill out, everyone is different. Let it pass, and worry about more important things.

When I see typing like that, I just don't read it. If you can't take the time to make your idea legible, it isn't worth me taking my time to try to read it. And honestly, if the person writing isn't intelligent enough to handle things we all learned in the 3rd grade (like punctuation) their idea probably isn't that great anyway.

ye its anoyin 4 me 2
Talk to me brother...god I hate that fucking shit.
It is pure ignorance. I'm 16 and find it highly annoying when people speak like idiots. They won't get jobs if they speak like morons. I agree with the guy that said about wasting our money in taxes educating them, stupid morons. I'm noy particually intelligent, but at least I know how to string 3 words together.
A few years ago it really irritated me too, all the misspellings and grammatical errors, but now, I've become accustomed to it. Consider it an expression of rebellion by young people to intentionally disregard what was taught in school. Recently, I also was very surprised how in urban schools teachers are often addressed by students as just "Mista" or just "Miss" without their surnames used. It is a sign of the times. I suggest just let it roll and lighten up, they will need to crossover in due time.
yes it is the most annoying thing in the world next to little childrenn who scream whenever they talk, i hate that soooooo much. but yes its totally normal
I don't understand at times why people fully utilize their fullsize keyboards. I do understand the need for such a "code" when texting via a cell phone considering the keys are usually a hassle to type in full.
I meant DON'T fully unilize their fullsize keyboards. .......
