Is is normal that i CAN'T STOP rubbing my beard?

Okay, it takes me a while to grow a beard. I'm 19, and whenever I don't shave I Cannot Stop rubbing the stubble on my chin and neck. Its almost 1/2 inch long now and the habit persists. Haven't tried to stop, really. And sometimes I get some of the beard-hair under my thumbnail and try to pull it. Sometimes I pull some out, but its not making bald spots yet. Normal?

Completely normal. That's what stubble is for. I'm all over mine like a rat on a corpse.
