Music was way better in the 60's to 80's.

you're right music isn't the same, it wasn't the same in the 70's as it was in the 60's. It wasn't the same in the 80's as it was in the 70's. Music always changes, you grew up listening to what that era exposed you to, as time goes on musical styles change and the people that played your favorite music all retire or die. get over it, time moves on.

Judging by the bands you've listed as being good, I would say the reason music today is worse is because there are more bands out there that exist simply to make money and advertise for big corporations, and also more bands that have this as their major incentive more making music in addition to their wanting to express themselves.

In my opinion, the best music is music that really expresses human thoughts and feelings through creative melodies and lyrics. The worst music is that which is heavily produced by someone who only knows the statistics of "what kids are listening to these days," and how to subtly promote a product in hopes of a secondary source of income.

I love music. I LIVE on it. And I hate this new JUNK that these bands are banging out. Now, there are bands that have been around for a while and still fucking rock; Green Day, AAR, Metallica...but older music had an awesome feeling to it, like it was just really really natural and, well, GOOD!

yeah i agree with what 33367 said. I'm sure there's tons of good music being created at this time. We just aren't being exposed to it cuz the media is busy feeding us hannah montana and jonas bros.

yep cuz everything is commercialized bullshit. and is it just me or were did the solos go? i love all types of music but it seems true musicians are being shut out to pop bullshit. i swear to god every other day its a new song with the same fucking three chords and the chorus over and over. its time musicians take the spotlight back. i cant stand the fact that i can shred way better and know more about music theory then these jerry as faggots who put out a jingle to turn a dime. i am a metal head but honestly it doesnt have to be heavy to be good. and i cant stand even more is the dip shits who listen to and promote this shit cuz when it comes to music they dont know their assholes from a whole in the ground. its really a slap in the face for the musicains who have truly put forth the effort for the pop crap one hit wonders to take the spotlight and the paycheck. and further more just on my own rant i live in southern california. orange fucking county and we dont even have a metal station period. i wish knac would come back. klos is classic. kroq is more like kalternative. weve been fucking ousted.

60's and 70's music rocks, most now days music does suck

go to google and search `dubstep` you will not be dissapointed, this genre of music is amazing and should be heard by everyone, just try it dude

Yes, but I think you never tried listening to indie music before and Modest Mouse is one of the greatest indie bands ever!
Also try joining Last.FM I discovered some much more awesome bands that I have never heard of

Check out local bands live music is always better and local bands still have the heart in their music not just I can make any song and make millions off it.
