I thought so because of the "forbit" thing, but I didn't like to jump to conclusions. I guess I'd have been one of the kids your parents wouldn't have wanted you speaking to. I guess your parents are trying to protect you, but giving you a cage you can't roam outside of is a bit like conserving tigers at a zoo, rather that in their natural habitat.
Another point; you can't judge whether someone is worth knowing by looking at their bank statements each year. People aren't a business to invest in.
