Is it normal I get big sores on my cheeks from crying?
Favorited (undo) 10 Comments

Anytime I cry for more than an hour or I cry and then lay in it I get these big puffy patches on my cheeks.

They're hot to the touch and are really sore, look a bit like sun poisoning, after a day or two they turn into rough, cracked, dry skin. It's almost like an allergic reaction or some shit like that but they're really noticeable and hurt like hell.

Is this normal? Ive tried putting lotion on it but it just swells up more.

How come you aren't more concerned about why you're crying so much? That's not normal. Tears are salt water so a lot of that on your facial skin won't do it any good at all, and nor will all that weeping.

If you're depressed you need to be doing something about that rather than worrying about your skin

OP said if they cry for more than hour that perfectly normal and doesnt mean there depressed. Why did you instantly just to the conclusion of depression because they cried and crying in moderation is good for you. They didnt say they cry for hours on end and for days never stopping.

I have some weird ass night terror problem where I cry really hard in my sleep, so most of the night I have no idea I'm crying and just wake up with the cry sores.
I ain't depressed, just got a sleep issue lol

So what are you doing about the sleep issue? Night terrors can be treated and no-one has them for no reason.

I'm not doing anything, and I don't really plan to, if I wake up in a fit I just kinda tough it out and push it aside. Not real big on talking things out.

Well then, nothing is going to change for the better, is it?

I said "if", I'm not into diagnosing over the internet. However, I still think crying for more than hour is not normal if it happens often enough for it to cause a skin reaction. I've done lots of crying in my life and I've never experienced or heard of such a reaction to what I'd call "normal" crying.

You are diagnosing over the internet telling her she might have depression. Yes having sores is a bit weird but crying is not especially when you she didn't say how often. And everyone is different so maybe she get sores and if you don't that doesn't mean its a problem.

Fine he. Gender pronouns really don't matter especially over the internet
