For example I've seen people say things like "Your an idiot!" That's just begging to be corrected because they failed at the entire "I'm smarter than you are!" theme when they couldn't even spell the insult correctly.
Now if it's just an innocent typo and the writer isn't trying to be a jerk the I'll be more apt to ignore grammar mistakes myself.
I might even say something like "Yeah, I never have tyops or speling errors!" just to make them feel better about the small mistakes.
So basically, it's all determined by the attitude of the person making the grammar errors.
Side note ... wow, it's hard to intentionally misspell words now. My updated browser has autocorrect, not just spellcheck. :-)
Oh man, speaking of grammar- it's a mix of a pet peeve of mine, and both an amusement when someone's giving the "I'm smarter than you" speech, or arguing with someone over why their opinion is right, and they misspell simple little words like "your/you're" and "there/their/they're". It's like, come on, you're failing at the whole "You are so flipping stupid" argument when you can't even spell correctly :P
