I met this guy in a bar, good looking, fun, smart enough. We started hanging out, and I found out that rather than being half latino, as I assumed, he's a quarter indian. His family aren't ethnic or religious so it's not even a cultural difference. But it slightly put me off. I've never been attracted to indian boys, I'm not racist and I have male indian friends, I'm just not attracted to them. I've dated and had long term relationships with black and chinese guys, but not indian. I didn't see anything wrong with that and I still don't. But the fact I was attracted to him and am now slightly less so upon learning his ethnicity worries me. I wouldn't rule him out because of this, not by a long way but it unsettles me that this is an issue for me at all (albeit a small one). Does this make me racist?

I absolutely agree with you!!!!!
xx
My lovely dad is quater-Indian...it makes me eighth-Indian. We are nice people.
I agree with mrsxsalvatore.
This whole post is racist!!!!!
And a quarter is like nothing at all.
Listen to the song 'As Long As You Love Me' by the Backstreet Boys (even if you hate the song, the lyrics of the chorus could make sense).
Besides, liking particular 'types' of male is normal - I myself would run miles for the sweet Irish type, but if I guessed a cute guy was Irish; but then I found out he wasn't, I wouldn't immediately go off him.
I find that biased, garnished with a dollop of predjudice. Not good.
I'm done arguing about the subtleties of morality with someone who says things like "D'you have a problem with the Backstreet Boys? Just because you might think their music is a bunch of BS doesn't mean all their lyrics are". Someone who thinks that a bunch of white guys selected for their physical appearance who don't even write their own music or lyrics have something useful to contribute to a discussion on race.
You're obviously rational enough to know he's not suddenly less physically attractive and that this shouldn't be an issue for you. Perhaps it's going to take a bit of a period of adjustment, but you shouldn't let it stand in your way.
