Well, for 2010 I was completely screwed over for taxes. I'm a college student but work part time and all my parents paid for was my cell phone and car insurance. All books, gas, rent, food, utilities, and whatever else was paid by me. When you only make a little less than 20 grand a year, I rack up a bit of credit card debt just scraping by. My parents claimed me for that tax year without me knowing, so now I owe the government $2,000. IIN I want to post ads on craigslist to hook so I can pay my debt? I'm not that bad looking and it would be easy to put a red light out on my porch.

I think your parents should be the ones to pay you the $2000. They claimed you as a dependant without your permission, so the consequences fall onto you and they expect YOU to pay the penalty? Nu-uh. That's bullshit. You need to tell your parents to not pull such stupid shit and that they need to pay up, because you can not be held to blame because they wanted some quick cash, that's crap.
Give them the IRS report and tell them that they need to pay the penalty. This isn't your fault. If they won't do it, try to find a cheap tax representative (or you can call the IRS yourself) and tell them what happened. It IS possible to negotiate a deal with the IRS, many people are just too timid to do it. I'm right with you, I work full time, make less than $20k and believe me, $2000 is a lot of money when you're at my level. Good luck.
Also, have you looked into getting a pell grant? You really should if you haven't already.
But yes, it is hard making 20k...that's just my gross income so minus all the taxes taken out..it probably comes out to 17k maybe...and with school in session, I make quite a bit less now than during the summer. I did tell my mom how much I owe and her response "I guess you expect us to pay for it blah blah blah being responsible blah blah blah." I will try calling the IRS. Thanks again!
I would suggest you talk to them again before you call the IRS. Inform them that you're going to have to call the IRS and inform them of what they did (which is technically tax fraud) so you can get a break on the payment if they don't help you pay back the $2000. If that still doesn't phase them, get their information, go to the IRS and tell the IRS that you can't pay and the tax debt is a result of tax fraud on the part of your parents.
And you have to be 24 to get the Pell Grant in your state? That doesn't sound right. Have you tried going to fafsa.gov? Input your tax information there, I make the same income as you (17k after taxes) and live on my own and I qualified for a Pell Grant and am getting one and I have been on the grant since I was 18. When I turned 20, I no longer had to give them my parents' tax information, (but even then I still qualified). Pell Grant is a federal grant and I'm sure the same rules apply in every state... but go to the website and check it out anyway if you haven't already.
Why are you still expected to pay $2000?
If your parents are the ones who files the tax report, then they are the ones who would owe the money, not you.
Maybe I'm too naive. Any guys want to do a tiger in the black hole of Calcutta for $20,000?
It's $25,000 if you're kinky too, and want your face ripping off. Or maybe I'll just throw that in as a free gift now and again. :D
and don't be surprised if you attract the wrong kind of customer. meaning... customers who might be rougher than you want, or ones who abuse or hurt you.
it might not be the magical solution you think it will be.
in all honesty... if that's the route you want to go, you might want to consider the adult industry. stuff that's legal - such as stripping or doing porn. if you don't mind video evidence haunting you that is.
That's why in areas in the US where it's legal... the prostitutes have to have routine medical examinations - in fact it's considered to be part of the operating costs of the brothel IIRC.
=)
AG is cool people. =)
unless it's part-time stripping or something like that
Get a roommate and get a side job.
