Is it normal I work on different scenes in the same story?

Yeah; I do that too. Typically, though, I work on different sections, scenes, and chapters in my head and then I'll glue the pieces together. Before I even take it to paper, I make sure that I have a beginning, middle, and ending scene in my head. Usually, and for some reason, I start with the middle or the end of the story/film (I don't know why. I guess it's because that's the best part) and then when I feel I have good enough scenes for those, a create a plot. If I like the plot, then I turn it into an entire story/film. I'm always jumping around, though. I can tell you that one of my latest films, I have just finished the entire storyline for it in my head (but haven't taken it to paper yet). The sequel to it, however, hasn't even begun having a plot. It still is very much just a bunch of different scenes from different parts of the movie(it's an action/fantasy, so I just have a bunch of explosions, action scenes, and wicked awsome stuff so far, and the different parts that I know I'm going to do something with later, of course.). The same goes for the rest of the saga. I like to think that most writers are like this, but I guess everyone is different. It's a matter of what works best for ya' :)
