School in my country is paid just by the people who have jobs. They miss more than half of their salary to pay all sorts of taxes, including school for minors. Students over 18 get money from the government to pay for their school too.
As for starting our own company. My dad already runs a repaircompany in the south of our country, and has taught us how to repair and sell electronics. We dont have to do 'everything' because he is planning on helping, but we do have to do most.
My boyfriend however already has a fulltime job and goes to school, so I'll have to help him out a lot.
Still, me already having thought of how to take care of most things, people still think its weird we want(and are going to) live together.
Well, thats the way its arranged here. I dont have to pay because I am going to school. Later when I graduate and start working i'll have to pay those taxes as well, for the- at that time- student (and job/homeless, + the sick and the old). May I ask, how do things work in your country then? Because you seem kind of surprised by this arrangment, and like its not fair?
School is free / paid for by taxes for children through what we call high school. That's kindergarden then grades 1-12.
Private schools and colleges are paid for by tuition. There are special bonuses under-privelaged can obtain for tuition however it isn't free across the board.
Paying your free education back is nice. However how many people actually do this? That is a factor right there to consider.
Aah I see now.. Things are very different between our countries then. I have heard you can get a very big debt by getting a loan for paying your education this way tho?
Our education is not completely free, you have to pay for the books and/or computer programs yourself, but the amount of money wont be higher than a few hundred euro's for (often) 4 years.
You dont choose to pay it back to the gouverment tho, they just hold taxes for things like this back from your salary when you are working (in total the taxes would be 48%). If you dont graduate however they will have you pay the money for your education back somehow, if you're unlucky.

That's the problem. It's like "Atlas Shrugged".
Many people who product eventually get tired of supporting those who don't produce.
