The elderly are easy prey for low-lifes now and she's probably afraid to be alone at night. I wouldn't be too confident alone at night if I was her age, but I'd only be afraid of a personal attack - they could have any possessions they wanted.

She sounds paranoid. Is she living in a dangerous neighbourhood or is this a recent fear? Build a fence around her home or get her a dog.

is it for security reason or for a show off or to keep a watch on you
