My other half is a very sociable, friendly person and has many friends and he thinks me not having many friends is a result of "laziness".
By laziness, he means I am not trying hard enough to be friends with people I meet.
However, in my theory, if you are meant to be friends with anyone, you don't even have to "try". (or "struggle", in my case)

I don't want too many friends. I just want a handful of close, quality friends.
Quality over quantity, is it normal?

Just think to yourself: "would I rather have lots of friends that don't really care about me, or a few friends that will always be there for me?"

And just pick what makes most logical sense to you. Aaand of course, the latter is what makes most sense.

You've got the right idea, in wanting quality over quantity. you avoid a lot of unnecessary BS that way. Your partner should try to be more accepting of your differences in this area, as it is a matter of preference.

i think you got it right. it's fun to go out and socialize with lots of people for a night as long as you know that's what it is. it's easy to spend you time with all the wrong people and neglect your friends sometimes. you probably should have at least one friend or a family member that is not close to your boyfriend, just for support if things get rough.
