Maybe he feels too ashamed of what he did so he's pretending it didnt happened. Embarassment and shame might be the reasons why he didnt thank you. If your really hung up on it just ask whats his problem. Best thing to do is just find a better friend, maybe space_ghost is right.
I understand he'd be embarrassed. It's an embarrassing situation. But I still don't think that's a good reason to act like nothing happened. Like I said and adult would own up to it.
So, basically he's an immature idiot. Just kick him out of your life and move on. You dont need to put up with this shit. Oh and I just noticed I wrote 'happened' lets pretend thats 'happen' instead. My bad.
