Fuck that, I like the term 'guys'. Unless you're a complete moron you can tell what the person means when they say 'guy(s)'.

This is as stupid as women getting their panties in a bunch over the term 'man', 'men' or 'mankind' when it's being used to describe a group of people that includes women.

I don't like it except for when Lisa Kudrow says it. As for "you all" I don't like that either but it does highlight the lack of a personal pronoun in the English language for "you plural". We had one and then got rid of it. "Ye" meant you plural and "thou" was you singular but we combined both words into one. You.

Simplifying English isn't always a good thing. Sometimes you lose something you needed all along.

This doesn't bother me but I can see how it might bother some. It's a generic term, not intened to offend anyone.

Your average lay-person doesn't care about how they sound when they talk, dude. Just so long as the message is clear. Most of us deal with the average lay-person. Although I think you are being a little persnickity or however you spell it lol. If you went them to speak properly speak properly to them and maybe the habit will catch on. Correcting people like that won't make you very many friends.

mmm i think part of the idea that you had is normal. i think its normal to randomly just not like certain words, but to me the whole people getting mad over calling a group of guys is a little weird. Its just how society ended up. To me, its no different then how we always refer to cars as women. Shes a beauty, or, i just got her a new coat of paint. Society just ends up getting stuck with some weird language cliches is all :p

I call everyone " Dude " . That seems to piss off poeple to would you rather they say high oldperson , hey fatty , hey ugly , hey white person ,hey asain , hey whiteman , hey white women , hey furry , hey hat , hey blue jenes, hey widehips , hey pleasently plump ? I dont know doesnt it seem alot less deviding and alot less rude to say " You guys , or hey dude " . I dont know thats just me and if they do not your names and dont say you guys they are gonna have to diffreincieate yourself in some manner right ? I don't know where you grew up but you shouldn't say "hey! anything". If you don't know someone by name but want to greet them you say "Hello" or "Good Morning"; it would make you seem like a civilized person.

Taking all your leads here, is it OK to call a group of (straight men) "hey girls" or "hey gals". No you wouldn't but showing how cool you are you say to a group of women "hey dudes", or "guys". Well that's OK - NOT.

It really would be refreshing to see girls and women not always acting like boys and men to try to act cool. Where is this heading to? What variety do boys have? Or does anything else make him a fag?

Isn't it just so cool that nerd who owns facebook will only wear t-shirts and jeans everywhere. I like that he talks like a cool nerd, that all he does is sit in front of a computer all day writing code. Wow, this generation is damn impressive, I bet he even owns an apple smart phone, you know the same model as everyone else. I should throw away all my other clothes except jeans and t-shirts, anything else would make me look uncool and maybe even a fag.
