Is it normal that I can only use my special pillow?

I am 27 years of age and have only had two different pillows in my entire life, by choice. This most recent pillow, I have had since I was 14 years old. Everyone in my family thinks it is nasty because they know when I am at home, I still carry it around all the time. The nasty part is that I drool on the pillow and am addicted to the dry drool scent. I am currently holding my pillow and smelling the drool as I am typing this. If I do not have my pillow at night, it is almost impossible for me to fall asleep. If I do fall asleep, I cannot stay asleep. Any one else have this or know anyone with this situation?
