Are You Normal?

Is it normal that I can't stand physical contact?

When people try to touch me, even for a hug, I normally back away, hit their hand or jump. Initially, it just makes me anxious, but then if they are persistent, I get angry. My sister grabbed my arm, I told her to let go and pushed her away, she grabbed me again and I slapped her. Men only add to this. If a girl touches me, I get nervous, but when men get anywhere near me my heart starts to race, and I'm terrified. I don't know what's wrong with me- if anything?
Do you think it's normal?

I don't think so. You like to have strict boundaries around who touches you, where, when how etc. and that is your right. Accept that your boundaries & conventional ones are not one & the same. So you need to find ways of letting people know without diminishing their dignity. That said, you have a right to define what is comfortable for you, and what is not.
