Is it normal that I can't control my thoughts

I usually can control them but sometimes things that are disturbing or disgusting pop into my head and I start having a panic attack because I don't want to think about them and I don't know why I would've thought about them. I feel like at that point in time someone else is controlling my thoughts. It's usually when I'm alone that this happens.

Your brain makes you think crazy things so you can be prepared for life. If you didn't have disturbing thoughts pop up, I'd be worried. You need to know bad things in order to deal with them.

It's not uncommon.
You wouldn't wanna get into my head.

You work yourself into a frenzy. I only learned how to prevent this once I got my anxiety under control and realized that I was psyching myself out!

I have this too since I was a kid and I thought I would go insane... they are horrible disturbing thoughts I cannot control and it makes me uncomfortable to be around the people or things they are about. It depends but it might be related to a form of OCD, or just anxiety disorder... You just have to remember your actions are controlled even if your thoughts aren't

When it pops into your head and you make it want to go, you actually are thinking more and more about it, so you start panicking because you are thinking to much by trying to let it go. That happens to me too xD
