I have been singing, song writing, playing the drums and guitar for 18 years. Music is my life! I've learned to respect and love every lyric and chord change from every artist and ever song. I've studied music history and theory and read many books on it. One thing I can't grasp is the Beatles. Their sound and history doesn't mean anything to me. It's honestly the one and only band I don't care for in every way. Even bad bands/music that is considered 'not so good' or 'bad' even have aspects that are special. Some people say stuff like, "We wouldn't have _____ if it weren't for the Beatles." "The Beatles changed music." I don't get it. We would have figured out music with or with out them. IIN I hate them?

Although I would say that if you can't pick out The Beatles influence in modern music, maybe it's time to swap to studying Geography or something. It's there, even if you don't like it.
How do you not know that having an opinion is normal?
This has been asked before.
I'm not one of those people that treats them like musical gods, but I do recognize their vast influence of the face of popular music.
So would we have done without Bach, mozart or Beethoven.(Naming the obvious). But that doesn't make their work any less respectable.
Plus, since it happened to be they who pushed music at that time, we got it quicker.
Same with The Rolling Stones.
Same with The Kinks.
Ironically they're all British bands who recycled American music and sent it back across the Atlantic. The real pioneers were the people that started Rock 'n' Roll. These Brit-Rock bands just happened to be perfectly presentable, packaged versions to sell to the public. They were successful musicians and that's all as far as I'm concerned.
