Is it normal that I feel guilty about having different opinions?

I'll clarify: when I read reviews of any interests (let's say, a certain band) I have, and I see some poor reviews, I feel guilty for liking that certain interest, and sometimes even stay away from it.

It sounds childish, I know, and to relieve myself I try to think that nobody's going to judge you for your opinions; I also think that all the others' opinions are unimportant (in a way that they should NOT affect your thinking).

Although I digress. Is this normal?

It's a common trait to want to fit in and be the same as everyone else. But you don't have to abandon your uniqueness. I have tastes that virtually no-one else shares. I also dislike things that everyone else seems to love. Disney, for example. It makes me very angry. Show me a Tom and Jerry cartoon, though, and I'm the happiest little dappled in the world. I don't care if someone says, "You suck. You don't like Disney". I just think, "Really? This is what you're basing my value on?"

Stop reading the reviews and just enjoy it for what it is.
