Me too. I think it's why I like the Beatles. Eleanor Rigby and She's Leaving Home are like poems. Although I kind of like people who can inject humour, even if it's bitchy. Whale's song, That's Where It's At, is an absolute bitch-fest about another woman but it is so creatively bitchy, it slays me. Anyone who can write the line "I hope you get pregnant on a one-night stand by a Finnish man with a blemished tan" deserves some credit.

Morrissey does well at injecting poetic menace too. The More You Ignore Me, The Closer I Get has the frankly fantastic:

I think that's annoying. Especially when teenage girls listen to Vienna by Billy Joel and think that it relates to them.

Different stokes for different folks. Music wise there's nothing wrong with liking this over that, it's all a matter of personal taste.

Listen to the story in the song "One for the Vine". You'll honestly love it. It's as if Shakespeare wrote it, it's so clever. Look it up on YouTube.
