Every time I hear people talk about how bad religion is, I get pissed off because most my friends and family are religious, and they're all very nice and tolerant and stuff. I just don't see why some people care so much about convincing others that there aren't any gods.

Personally, it annoys the living hell out of me when atheists constantly talk about how stupid and unenlightened religious people are. I have seen both sides of the argument and I chose my side. I wasn't raised anywhere near the church. I found it on my own, I enjoy it, I don't push my beliefs on others and I live my life. And I am sure many atheists have been bad-mouthed by stupid religious folk that think that being a jerk to someone is a great conversion method, I know I was when I was an atheist.
Most of my friends are atheists. And we are cool. But there is always one prickly one, religious or atheist, that feels the need to use their beliefs as a soap box to preach off of.
No one likes someone who tries to force their beliefs (or non-belief) down someone else's throat.
Just as many religious people bad-mouth athiests as vice versa.
Yes, it is normal to be annoyed. You should be annoyed with the other side of the argument too, though, so not to be prejudice.
They're just trying to get Christians off Christianity and being assholes about it too.
Im no satanist, but i respect LaVeyan Satanism very much.
1.Do not give opinions or advice unless you are asked.
2.Do not tell your troubles to others unless you are sure they want to hear them.
3.When in another’s home, show them respect or else do not go there.
4.If a guest in your home annoys you, treat them cruelly and without mercy.
5.Do not make sexual advances unless you are given the mating signal.
6.Do not take that which does not belong to you, unless it is a burden to the other person and they cry out to be relieved.
7.Acknowledge the power of magic if you have employed it successfully to obtain your desires. If you deny the power of magic after having called upon it with success, you will lose all you have obtained.
8.Do not complain about anything to which you need not subject yourself.
9.Do not harm young children.
10.Do not kill non-human animals unless you are attacked or for your food.
11.When walking in open territory, bother no one. If someone bothers you, ask them to stop. If they do not stop, destroy them.
Lol ever notice five years ago no one even knew what an Atheist was, it's just a bullshit fad now.
I have yet to hear any person admit that they are at least partially responsible for creating a division in society, that is often destructive to society as a whole.
Please answer the question, why are you creating divisions in society?
You are categorizing them, because you have stated this as fact. You now have this thought, idea or concept in your mind. This creates a division in society, and you are responsible for perpetuating these destructive ideas.
I do it for the same reasons you do it.
I refered to them, they categorized themselves. Facts are facts.
What makes you think you are some authority on what people should and should not do? You have no power. Not everyone, if anyone thinks the way you do.
You may think of yourself as a God-like figure and you'd be alone in that belief Dr. Shelton Cooper.
So just swallow your pride and tell me you were wrong or full of shit or talking out of your ass and then apologize. It's pretty simple. I am still waiting...
P.S. "...which is a good step forward, and I commemd you for that."
Don't talk down to me like that. I don't like to be patronized.
You are a smug little varmint, I will give you that.
I give you a compliment, and you take offense to it.
I have said this before, and I will say it again. I hope that you will listen this time. I am only an extraordinary average guy. Nothing more. Do not make me out to be someone I am not. I spent many years trying to solve the problem of the actual nature of the Universe. I now have a basic understanding of this.
When I solved the problem, I came into contact with a very highly advanced technological civilization. I have since then, been in communication with them. They have warned me that this planet Earth is in serious trouble. All you need to do is look around you, we are destroying it. Too many people either deny this, or are complacent or ignorant of the facts. Quite often, the root cause for many of our problems, is because our society is divided. Too often, people blame others for this (it's always them, and never me) and continue to perpetuate these old, out-dated, archaic ideas, whether they believe in them or not. We all need to work together, and division in society (in the context of theology) is contrary to this.
I apologise if I hurt your feelings,
but the people on this planet need a wake-up call.
I admit that I have used these words in the past, but I will try to limit my use of them in the future, and I hope that you can do the same.
Instead of blaming 'them' for the problems 'they' cause, why not ask 'them', why are they creating divisions in society?
I can see that you are not willing to admit that you are wrong. You are too smug and you patronize me too much. You refuse to apologize, so I am finished with you. This will actually be the last thing I write to you. I don't care what you have to say, so don't bother replying because I won't read anything you write. Save your time.
I AM NO LONGER FEEDING TROLLS.
I have no problems with people believing in god(s), or subscribing to certain faiths. I have a problem with these faiths being used to justify actions/passing of laws, and completely going against empirical evidence.
My objective would be to achieve secularism, not to completely destroy religion.
WHY CAN'T WE ALL JUST LIVE WITHOUT WORRYING ABOUT EACH OTHERS BELIEFS?!
I like to keep my religious and spiritual views to myself, because i find it a private practice. But people like that really piss me off.
