I don't like the word "sweetie". I don't mind the others, honestly. But I just find the word "sweetie" to be very, ugh, just annoying.

It's normal. Most people I know (male and female) get pet names but they are pet names that are specific to them only. I think that's okay. Generic ones are just... blah! Although I do quite like them when I'm affectionate with someone. being called darling is very nice.

Aww, I think if they mean it then it's nice:). Maybe you could try to see it as a compliment, which is what it should be. I don't like it when it's used in a degrading or condescending way, though, if that's what you meant?

I think it's probably normal, some people just don't like that sort of thing. My reaction depends entirely on who calls me it really, sometimes it's sweet, sometimes creepy, sometimes annoying..

I prefer to call women by their names.

It doesn't bother me if they're just being nice. But it's normal. In the southern US everybody calls each other pet names, it's just a custom there.

It's normal to be bothered by it if you're not dating. It's rude. If you're in a relationship, I think they should respect that you don't like it if you tell them that. They might accidentally slip up sometimes, though.

I don't like being called babe either it sounds so unserious.

For some reason, when anyone says something like God bless you, or I'll pray for you, or something like that, I want to slap them across the face. I also hate it when anyone hits on me.

i hate that too! men think they are so awesome! well how awesome will they be when my fist makes contact with there face! they need to respect your wishes and not call you that. i tell them off... GRRRR
