My girlfriend and I have the most joyfull story I've ever heard for. We're both aware of that and as details of it don't mather to my question please just take it as a fact... we really love each other. And it's gonna be our fifth year together now.
Nevertheless, she carries sorrow in her heart since 6 years ago, her previous boyfriend died. It's something she hasn't managed to go through. So, she just asked me to give her some time on her own to think and define some thing's about herself and what she's looking for in life. It's not about stopping to see each other, It's about not being boyfriend & girlfriend for a while - only friends. She said she needs this to be able to love me in the way she really wants.
I agreed. I understand it if she needs to make some profound reflection on her own. But of course, her abscense hurts and this period of time not being gf & bf puts in doubt many feelings and dreams.
My question is/are... is it normal that my girlfriend needs some time on her own?
Has anyone done it before and come back?
