Is it normal that my jaw clicks

When opening and closing my mouth the right side of my jaw (were the joint is) clicks. I think I somehow misalign the jaw joint while asleep on the pillow. The effect used to go away after few hours but now it is more persistent. I feel no pain but it is sufficiently loud to be heard by my mother.

Is this common and is this problem permanent?

I have it too, it's called TMJ. Sometimes it gets so bad that I can hardly open my mouth.

TMJ. talk to an orthodontist if it becomes nonstop and really hurts.

Mine clicks too. My oral surgen said it's part TMJ and partly to do with my jaw being missaligned.

Happens to me a lot. At first it used to scare me because I didn't know what was going on with my jaw but as long as it doesn't hurt or cause you a problem, don't worry too much about it.

But of course if you are worried, go and talk to a doctor etc.
