My nails naturally grow in a pointed shape, or they grow normal but soon break into that shape. I only file them to get rid of rough broken edges, but leave the shape the same. It looks fine and most people seem okay with it. However, I have relatives who want me to cut them short and say long pointy nails look scary. The problem is, even if I do cut my nails they will be back to the way they were before in less than a week. Is this normal, and if no, should I cut them short?

I used to have really long nails and I accidentally scratched a kid's face so bad that his family considered a lawsuit. Be careful, nails can do more damage than you think. That kid still looks in the mirror and sees his scars.
But fuck him, he was a bully.
