I run about 4 miles a day and my shins start to feel sore, like a bruise on the inside. Could it be my shoes?

Is It Normal?

Could happen due to a lot of reasons:
1.Not exercising for a long period of time and then suddenly taking on long distance running. Your leg muscles need conditioning too.
2.lack of calcium and vitamin D (mind you, without vitamid D your body won't process calcium well)
3.Bad shoes/surface combo.
4.Rapid weight change.
I had really bad case of shin splints after I gained 20lbs. by weight-lifting only. Without cardio it just seemed like my frame can't support my new weight. Even walking was troublesome.
When I dropped the weight and started running routines everything was back to normal.
Nowdays I'm smarter and keep training my cardio along my weight lifting and gaining.
