Your stepdad could still be in the grieving process, it could be his way of being a man and moving on but he isnt actually stopping to think of the consequences, its not fair on you, himself and this new woman

oh you poor thing, my deepest condolences to you. Some men find comfort moving on to a new partner, they need women so, try and remember this when you get mad, there not the same, all the best, hope you can get on ok cause you need family

It's normal to be pissed but understand that what he is doing is normal too . I'm sure he is grieving but he needs someone to help him through this time also. This is VERY common after a death. And sorry for your loss.

Thanks for the support!! Here is where the story gets crazy. It's not so much me who is being hurt by this. You see my younger sister who was pregnant when my mom passed away went into labor and gave birth to her daughter 11 hours after my mom died on the SAME day!! Awesome hey? Anyway she still lives in my mom and dads house and she is devastated by this cuz he is spending no time with her and his granddaughter. He works up north 3 weeks on and 10 days off and when he's home he is drinking and hanging out with this woman that's why I am mad!!!

I understand your anger- that must be really hard to be going through. What he's doing doesn't surprise me though. Everyone deals differently with pain and grief, and he is doing the best he can with the coping mechanisms he's got.

Everyone has a good point, as hard as it is for you... It's not your life. Be supportive. No one says you have to call her Mom, or even be friends with her. Time. If you trust your father and love him, then this woman must be special. Maybe if you give her a chance, you may find out why your father loves her so much. Maybe you'll like her. Just keep an open mind, is all I'm saying, do it for your father.

You should've added a proper date to the question. She died October 2001? And now in July 2012 hes dating a new woman? We can't tell if it's you being a psycho or if he's the one who didn't seem to care...

First of all how could she have died in 2001 if they got married five years ago? October 2010 is when she passed away and he started dating this woman in December the same year!!! Try to keep up
