Is it normal that my uncle is everyone's uncle?

I have always called my uncle uncle, even my mum and dad call him uncle. This was as long as when I was a kid. Now, my uncle has a wife and she calls him uncle. Even her sister's/friends/whatever's KIDS call him uncle. But he's my uncle!!! I always found this a bit funny :D What do you think?

I think it's sweet. I was never close to mine. They lived 3000 miles away. They were strangers. . They are gone now.

Anyway, your uncle must be a pretty special person. Keep him close!!

Are you sure his name isn't Uncle? Your uncle Uncle? That would explain a lot.

The more I say uncle, the weirder it sounds...

It's the same with my mom. "Ninang" means godmother in our country and her sisters, her cousins, her husband (my dad) calls her Ninang. Probably it's just a nickname like what your uncle has.
