it has to hurt-i have never felt how it is to feel love from a parent-but as a parent-i know how busy life can be-i bet the blank meant that they were so shocked that they forgot and it will never happen again-BTW-Happy Birthday!

I feel sorry for you... only my father that jerk forgots birthdays sometimes... But it is hard for him to forget mine as it is 5 days after his^^

i think its normal.. my family doesn't know my birthday or how old i am. idk. its normal for me. the only time they do remember is when i tell them, but as i grew up i realized that they didnt care about my birthday specifically (since my 3 older brothers always get a celebration of some sort for their birthdays like going out to eat or gifts or even a cake) so i just stop reminding them. my favorite birthday was when i was 8 i think? my mom bought a small cake and i sang happy birthday to myself, closest thing i have to a birthday celebration.

I haven't had a proper birthday since I was about 5 years old.....

Unfortunately, I guess not celebrating peoples birthdays is normal in some families. I wish it wasn't, though. But trust me you're not alone in this.

I'll never understand why people put so much importance into birthdays. They are rather meaningless in my opinion. Someone forgetting your birthday also doesn't automatically mean that they don't care about you, some people have horrible memory for things like dates. I know I do. Or they could just be very busy in their own life that they forget about things like that, or might not have even noticed what day it is.

It just means they dot love u, .. I get it worse though , my family asks me to buy the cake for my birthday so they can help me celebrate, whAt?

They forget mine all the time. Nowadays, I don't remember it myself half the time.
