I'll give examples.
I'm trying to watch a TV show. I get distracted for a minute or start thinking of something else and I have to rewind the show numerous times.
I'll start reading a book and I get stuck on a sentence. I'll read it over and over again and I still forget what I read. If I come upon a word Ive never heard or I rarely see I have to stop and look it up in the dictionary for the definition and/or pronunciation.
If I'm listening to a song and I miss my favorite part I rewind it. My mind will start to wander again and I'll miss it so I have to start the song all over again.
When I make lunch for myself half the time I forget to eat it. It'll be sitting on the table for an hour then I'm like "Oh! I forgot about you!"
I can never finish what I mean to do.

I heard something on the radio once about how the internet and technology in general is shortening our attention spans, and it made sense. At any one time I will have four or more tabs open and be flipping back and forth across them in the middle of reading things, and at the very least that's hardly an exercise in focusing. When less than five seconds after you've conceived of a question you can have the answer right there in front of you, and you're used to that, it's almost strange to have to sit there and ponder over a sentence in a book.
Which is sad, because not being able to focus tends to sap the meaning and potential for enjoyment out of things. And it seems that we're wasting more time than we're saving by having all this available. Or maybe I should speak for myself. I am wasting more time than I'm saving.
I could never forget a lunch sitting in front of me, though!
Try to focus more.
