Here, I think we're dealing with political correctness. It's a STATISTICAL ABERRATION for males to be cheerleaders just like it's a statistical aberration for women to be welders or heavy equipment operators or nightclub bouncers or a gentile to be a popular comedian in the Borscht belt.
But there are a few.
So does that mean that those people are WEIRD? No. But they are way out there on the probability curve.

'NORMAL' is such a loaded term because some people attach extremely negative connotations to NOT being normal. I think most people think, "If I vote to say it is NOT normal then I might be negatively affecting someone's self-esteem, and in these hardscrabble days of economic peril that's about all that some people have LEFT. So, seeing as how I'm such a kind and compassionate soul, I will say that it's normal."

The standard rejoinder to a male cheerleader being picked on is, of course, that the bullies are "unsure of their own sexuality". Another cliche rides to the rescue.

I wouldn't pick on the men in the Olympic gymnastics...christ those people look like they just ate a couple of trains and they fell right to their shoulders...

I don't get it, you get to grope and man handle all those cute girls. If anything they're jelous.

Dont' worry about what they think. If it's what you enjoy doing than keep doing it. People are always going to be bastards, but don't let their bastardly ways keep you down. And 9 times out of 10, they probably can't do what you do. Keep having fun, they aren't worth you giving up on what makes you happy.

As long as you're enjoying it, who cares what the others around you think? Their opinions should mean nothing to you as long as you're enjoying yourself.

Do what you want. There is no reason to pick on a cheerleader. Those men are just insecure about their own masculinity and make up "man rules" in their head to feel better about themselves.

i was the only male cheerleader at my high school and everyone loved and respected me. i loved cheer, those were the best years of my life.
for the record, i know way more straight male cheerleaders than gay ones.

Although the majority of cheerleaders at my university were remale, there were a few males too.

In fact, cheerleading was originally aimed just at men when it was first created.

I wouldn't say it's normal, but there isn't anything wrong with it.

It's not really normal, I have never seen a high school with more than one or two male cheerleaders, most of them are female.

But is it wrong or weird? I don't consider it to be either. So whatever, do what you want.

I have never met a straight male cheer leader. I have never met a gay kid that didn't get picked on. Fuck them do what you like to do man.
