I am afraid of bees and find them to be scary. Whenever I see them, I always fear that they'll sting me and I hate that cause the stinging is painful. I hope this is normal.

I've never been stung by a bee, I feel like an outcast! Also, it's normal to fear things which can cause you pain, although most of the bees I have seen have been pretty tame. Wasps a lot more freaky to me than bees.

Bees are kittens. I don't know how hard you have to push one, but I stroked one and it still wasn't interested in all that stinging nonsense.

The only times I've ever been stung was when I (accidentally) crushed or almost crushed the bee or wasp. I've brushed them off, swatted at them with my hands to get them away from me, and that doesn't seem to get them too mad. My first bee sting was on the bottom of my bare foot....ouch.

I will freely admit though, I freak when one comes buzzing around dive bombing me...they always go for my hair, I have long hair and they have got stuck in there before and it's so scary to me. Sometimes I get them out of my hair and they go right back in!! Crunchy, stinging bugs stuck in my hair, no thanks....I HATE the crunchy feeling of bugs. Damn exoskeletons.

The giant fuzzy bumble bees are fun though! They don't seem aggressive at all, actually pretty slow and, um, bumbling.

I think we're on the same page. I've had wasps and hornets go for me but bees are such daft furry buggers that I just love them.

I catch giant bumblebees, pop them in the freezer for a few minutes, and tie some floss around their waist while they're all cold and unable to move. Then they come back to life, and voila, pet bee on a string!!

Actually, I do have pics of one of my pet bees, but I'm not in the pics, just my hand, and some of the bee alone. I'll put one up for you!!

I was stung twice within a matter of 10 seconds when I was only 2 years old. There was a hive outside our neighbors' house. I cried and screamed, and this caused a phobia I guess you could say. I've been stung twice since then and it wasn't that bad, but they still frighten me nevertheless

I hate them when they dive bomb past my head that I can FEEL the buzzing in my ears. DRIVES ME INSANE. Though I never try to kill bees or paper wasps because they're beneficial bugs.

Me too, but I'm more terrified of wasps. I may even have a phobia. I think it's because I've never been stung, and I don't want to experience it.

I brush hogged over a bee hive last summer. I am now a little scared of bees myself! That was horrible!

I've never been stung before. I'm terrified of insects in general. Except caterpillars :}.

Apiphobia is the fear of bees and or the fear of being stung.

Normal.

Depends on the kind of bee. There are evil Killer bee's that exist. But your average bee won't sting unless threatened.

Wasps are the big assholes, including yellow jackets.

I remember as a child, the majority of every bee that comes near me ends up flying toward my ear. It was even worse when i went to a camp and I couldn't see the bees coming, so i would just hear buzzing real close (right next to my ear), and freak out. Since then, I still can't stand bees.
