Is it normal to be annoyed by music with singing/vocals?

I get like this with some trip-hop music. The music will start out great. It has nice beat and suddenly, it's ruined when the singer starts to sing. Ahh! I hate when that happens. As for other genres; I don't seem to have this problem. I suggest for you to listen only to instrumental music.

If you are referring to every single autotuned music out, then yes. It's unpleasant.

Maybe ur problem is ur listening to radio, which 90% of the music channels on radio suck and main stream music is horrible. If u have a friend really into music, try them for a starting point on what u might like. Or ask me, I enjoy trying to match music to people that they never listen to on their own, but might really enjoy

Auto tune and vocal pitching tools have made singing sound so shit. I like to hear real and raw vocals, not flat, smoothed over shit. I love experimentation and the vocals in the "popular" music on the radio all sound the same, so fuck fuck radio and and people who need auto-fag to sing.


I'm one of those hardcore fans that thinks Mike Patton owns vocals in general, an outside the box genius.

Don't much differentiate between vocals, guitar solo's, saxophones, whatever. About 5% of any genre you care to pick is great, maybe another 15% is tolerable then it's all downhill from there.

i feel exactly the same!!!!! with the exception being me in the shower because i ROCK :P
