Is it normal to be depressed about a show being cancelled.

The year before last, i decided to start watching the show, "Kyle XY" on the internet. it had already been cancelled two or three years before that, but i had no idea. so i began to get addicteed to the show, i loved the show so much, my grades started dropping because i focused all of my time on that show.

When the i got to the last episode, they ended it with a cliff hanger as if they were going to make another episode. i was in shock, i was searching the web site for the next episode. i did a little research on line and it turns out, the show was cancelled out of the blue so they had planned to make another episode, but couldn't.

i felt sad because i kind of felt like i was inside of the family on the show. to compare it to how i was feeling, it was kind of like a group of some of your close friends had moved away without notice.

i was depressed for about two weeks. my friends would ask me why i was depressed, and i would be kind of embarrassed to tell them that it was because a show was cancelled two years ago.
is this normal?
