I just have the urge to visit other states in the US. (I live in California). I especially want to visit the southern United States and I have sweatshirts/postcards/etc of those places. It's not JUST that I want to travel to new places, but new STATES in particular.

Yeah it's normal. There's a lot of cool shit in the South. Fantastic, varying scenery. Population is more spread out than in Cali. Not sure where in Cali you're from, but driving through bumfuck nowhere in the south can actually be kind of thrilling, even peaceful when you come from a place that's densely populated.
