Do you know the song "what if God was one of us"? I think God is every where. But for some reason we look at the sky. But if you like to look at that one spot, it's fine. Just try to find God everywhere also.

This is a beautiful topic.
When I was little, I used to think that a certain women in a painting above my bed "was God." In hte painting, she wore a green dress, and she was tucking in her baby and an angel was beside her.

After I got older, I moved into a bigger bedroom down the hall. My little brother, who slept in the same bed after I had left, later told me that he used to think that she was God also!!

The best homes keep holy images in them. I am sure that many a nun has looked into a stained glass window and prayed.

God is certainly above us; all major religions agree on this point.

I think your feelings are normal, but i do not think God is in the "firmament" that is below the heavens which the bible mentions (the sky), but rather, He is in and among the heavens, meaning that he is in, through, and yet above and beyond the stars, as he is above and beyond the understanding that a single human can experience.

Pray with a *group* of people, and see how that feels.
